Mygazines is starting 2011 with a big system update!  We are implementing some new and exciting features!  

1)      API version 0.1

• With a little custom programming you will be able to do things like remotely access your account’s content, upload files, authenticate users and more!
• You just need the account’s API key and signature strings to build custom applications
• To access the API key and signature strings, just edit your account profile and go to the API key tab (See image 1 below)
• For an overview of the new API please refer to this document

2)      Subscription System Improvements

• For New Subscriber Sign Ups:  2 Custom Fields now can be assigned labels and value types (See Image 2 below)
• You can create a list of values for subscriber to choose from in a dropdown menu (See Image 3 below), or allow for any values to be entered (see Image 4 below)
• Custom Fields will only display if made required
• Option to Hide all non-required fields:  Make your sign up screen cleaner by not showing the fields you don’t need filled out by your new subscribers (See Image 2 below)
• “Remember Me on This Machine” option for subscribers (See Image 5 below).  Browser Cookie will set so the user won’t need to re-enter their username if the go to log in again.  Password will still be required

3)      Image Quality Choices - Contact Us for Assistance

• There will now be 3 options for image quality, set at the title level
• Default will be as the system currently is: good clarity and fastest download speed
• Other options will be better clarity/slower download and best clarity/slowest download(not recommended)
• Although we don’t recommend the best clarity due to the slowing of flipbook performance, some users will want the best quality images at the expense of speed

4)      Improved License Distribution Options - MASTER ACCOUNTS ONLY              

• Master accounts will now be able to have more control over the license distribution to sub-accounts
• Ability to upgrade a sub-account’s license pack mid-month to give them more licenses if needed (CANNOT DOWNGRADE AN ACCOUNT’s PACK MIDMONTH, DOWNGRADES MUST BE FOR THE NEXT MONTH)
• Upgrade OR downgrade an account’s license pack to take effect on the first of the next month
• Get a view of pending updates on a sub-account in the license distribution screen for that account

5)      Widget is now in its own iframe

• Prior to this fix, any problems with the widget iframe, would affect the loading of the publication area as well (eg if twitter is down, the load of the flipbook would be affected)
• With the fix, the widget iframe will load separately from the rest of the content, resulting in a faster load of the content.
• NOTE:  If any customers had self targeted links in the widget area, the change will result in those links opening up in the side widget iframe only.  They will need to change their self targeting links to have them open in a new window/tab (egtarget=”_blank”)

6)      Improved Mobile 3.0 Performance and Bug Fixes          

• Improved pinching and zooming
• Various bug fixes
